Modification M/S Annika Braren

Business segment: Shipbuilding

Project details

The future cargo of the M/S Annika Braren necessitated the installation of so-called „monkey rocks“. This removes the constriction at the bow and stern of the ship and enables the loading of rectangular cargo. For this purpose, we installed approx. 26 tonnes of material in the ship. The following work was carried out in the style of a classic repair yard.

  • Detail engineering based on concept design
  • Production of all firing components including the necessary markings for frame, deck, water and bulkhead lines, seam preparations and additions
  • Production of the profile components
  • Creation of parts lists including all information relevant for further production
  • Procurement of raw materials: raw sheets and profiles
  • Procurement and installation of 2 manhole covers, 1 hatch and 1 standard ladder
  • Transport and handling of components to the quayside
  • Welding assembly on board the „M/S Annika Braren“
  • NDT
  • Coating work on both sides of the modules

The project was completed in a very short time thanks to the one-stop execution. The ship had a laytime of only 2.5 days. The work was completed to the complete satisfaction of the crew and shipowner.
