Ostseestaal shapes the future

Research and development

We invent what does not exist.

Research for sustainable & efficient steel structures

Our research and development work focuses on optimising designs, increasing resource efficiency and improving manufacturing processes. Continuous development work results in solutions that fulfil both technical and ecological requirements.

Our R&D activities focus on areas such as

- Development in the field of FEM analysis for the optimisation of steel structures through the use of shaped sheets
- Development in the area of the aviation research programme for the development of forming processes to reduce the use of raw materials

Innovation arises from exchange

Ostseestaal actively participates in publicly funded research and development projects at regional, national and European level. Funded projects make it possible to develop innovative technologies under real-life conditions, reduce risks in early development phases and bring new solutions to market maturity together with strong partners. Collaboration with universities, research institutions and industrial partners creates an important basis for sustainable innovation in steel construction.

Our promotional projects focus in particular on

- Development in the field of semi-automated 3D cold forming
- Customised solutions
- Developments in the aeronautics research programme

From the idea to realisation

Research and development at Ostseestaal means: practical innovation with measurable added value.
We provide holistic support for development processes - from the concept phase through calculation and prototype construction to series production. This end-to-end expertise enables us to realise even unusual requirements reliably and efficiently.
