Ostseestaal focusses on dual training
Training year 2023
Stralsund metalworking company has three new apprentices under contract
Apprenticeship years are not master years. Most people are probably familiar with this saying. Fittingly, the new training year began last Friday. A Stralsund company was also able to welcome new trainees. Three young men started their training at Ostseestaal GmbH & Co. KG.
The Stralsund-based company has been training its own skilled workers since 2000. Since then, more than 150 young skilled workers have successfully completed their training at the company. Twelve trainees are currently under contract. „The increasing shortage of skilled labour in the economy reinforces the need to train our own skilled workers in order to secure and drive forward the strategic development of the company,“ explains Ostseestaal Production Manager Frank Krüger.
The three new recruits have embarked on a dual training programme to become production mechanics. During their three-year apprenticeship, the future production mechanics can expect to assemble various parts and components according to specifications in technical drawings and assembly plans. The metal processing company, which has 200 employees, offers a varied and challenging range of tasks and the associated career prospects within the company. According to Krüger, many former trainees now hold management positions within the company.
Ostseestaal GmbH & Co. KG specialises in the manufacture and supply of custom-fit kits made from cut and three-dimensionally formed sheet metal. Materials such as stainless steel and aluminium are processed. The company is known worldwide for shipbuilding, industry, renewable energy and architectural projects and has the expertise to design and plan innovative and customised projects. The local region is recognised on the international market for its solutions to challenging tasks and successes, making Ostseestaal an attractive employer.
