CUSTOMISED KITS FOR YACHT AND SHIPBUILDING
Shipbuilding
We supply precise kits made from cut and formed sheet steel for yacht and shipbuilding. Using modern processes such as plasma cutting, flame cutting and two- and three-dimensional forming, we guarantee maximum accuracy of fit. We also weld and assemble small to medium-sized sections efficiently. Our moulded outer skin panels do not require any additions - this saves time and reduces assembly costs.
All components, whether straight or moulded, are manufactured to yacht standards and tested several times - for consistently high quality. We process steel, aluminium, stainless steel and other high-quality materials. We also supply welded assemblies such as forecastles, superstructures, masts, funnels, bow beads and deck components, including mechanical processing and coating.
ORGANICALLY SHAPED
ARCHITECTURE
Ostseestaal specialises in the 3D cold forming of large metal sheets, ideal conditions for organic forms in architecture and art. In collaboration with architects and artists, exclusive concepts for construction, production and structural realisation have been developed from designs in the past. Organically shaped surfaces such as façades, roofs or bridges were combined with load-bearing substructures whose statics were calculated using FEM simulation.
Tailor-made constructions were manufactured from aluminium, stainless steel, weatherproof or mild steel according to customer requirements. Thanks to modern production technologies and our many years of expertise, sheet metal could be shaped into almost any form and realised as turnkey projects including assembly - without any design limits.
COMPLEX SHAPES
AVIATION AND SPACE TRAVEL
Ostseestaal manufactures large-format moulds and tools for CFRP and GFRP components, such as aircraft fuselages and wing shells for the Airbus A350 or Boeing Dreamliner. The entire production process - from surface processing, cutting and 3D cold forming to the assembly of the laminating and gluing device - is carried out from a single source. The range of services is supplemented by stress relief annealing, sandblasting, mechanical processing and worldwide transport.
We ensure quality and adherence to deadlines through our own quality and project management. 3D laser measurements ensure dimensional accuracy, weld seams are tested using ZFP and helium leak tests. We manufacture laminating devices up to 25 m long, 5 m high and 30 tonnes in weight, some with 40 mm thick cover plates. We use high-quality materials such as steel, nickel 36 (INVAR) and aluminium.
