Project
Electric Solar Ferry
Projectdetails
Emission-free inland vessel for passenger traffic
The new electric-solar ship replaces a conventional ferry that was used on the Usedom destination until recently. This will save about 20 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually. Solar modules and high-performance batteries provide the electricity needed for the passage between the mainland and the island of Usedom. The ferry will travel at a service speed of 8 km/h. The maximum speed possible is 15 km/h. A maximum speed of 15 km/h is possible.
