Emission-free electric ships for passenger transport

The passenger ship for the BSB shipping company is a very demanding shipbuilding order for Ostseestaal. In this project, completely new approaches had to be taken, for example, a parametrically modeled aluminum hull. This hull was optimized for flow by means of numerical calculation points. In addition, the energy concept will set new standards in shipbuilding. A specially developed control and optimization software, a special magnetic mooring system and, for the first time, bifacial solar modules that can generate energy on the front and back of the ship will be used.  The ship will have a capacity of 300 passengers above sea level.
The capacity of 300 passengers exceeds all previous electric ferries or passenger ships designed and realized by Ostseestaal. BSB has secured an option for a second vessel until the end of 2022.
