The product life of the metal sheets used for assembly in shipbuilding begins after the delivery by ship, train or truck which includes weather-protected storage facilities. Delivery is electronically registered in the ERPLink system.

After acceptance of the order, which means after acceptance of the raw plate out of the storage facilitiesLink, the steel is water-resistant lettered using an inkjet process marking device.

The data required for this is prepared, as for instance with the flame cutting machines (plasma, oxy fuel), by the marking machine process calculator of one of our networked companies.

Subsequently the fully automated marking is done by the marking deviceLink. Required lines are registered on the raw plate by the plasma marker of the respective flame cutting machine.

Ostseestaal has the capacity to process plates at a size of 16000 x 3200 mm and a thickness of up to 100 mm. When possible, the cutting of the plates is done simultaneously, this means parallel or even laterally reversed (port, starboard) on the flame cutting machines.

Some forms of the joint preparationLink are pre-combined with the cutting of the piece contours. The processing of uncomplicated edge forms as well as scarfing and steel plate thickness adjustments are done at special work stations (Secator®).
